I write this post as the weather has certainly taken a turn for the worse, its hammering down outside !
Chance though at least for me to catch up on this weeks photos, the highlight of which has to be sat ( well actually lay down mostly ) within a few feet of family of Canada Geese and their splendid new and oh so cute Goslings.
Location - Bumble Hole Nature Reserve.
Lets hope as many as possible of the already vulnerable & fragile newly born survive this nasty weather. Its a fact of nature that they won't though, some of the broods of chicks I've seen and my nature loving friends have reported are down for example from eight born to just two or three. But that's the cycle of nature and has to be accepted.
Also in the images to follow, some very disheveled and odd looking Baby Coots ( but cute in their own way ) and more Mallard ducklings.
The butterflies are starting to appear , only stopped to take pics of one "Large White", but I'm hoping to capture as many butterfly species as possible this year as they properly start to show in numbers.
A few Starlings dropping in on the feeders at home was another new species for the garden, not everyone's favourite, but I think they look splendid.
Finally having taken part in a Webinar presented by top wildlife photographer and fellow Olympus user Tesni Ward, https://www.tesniward.co.uk , where she explained her approach to capturing badger sets in the wild, I've started experimenting with remote triggering a static camera from phone app, allowing unaware subjects to wander up very close. Just a start but a technique I plan to pursue further.
Anyway, hope you enjoy my images.
